Lost in Shadow
You have probably been enjoying the coverage of Lost in Shadow. I have certainly enjoyed getting every little tidbit of information that Hudson Entertainment has provided Family Friendly Gaming. When a demo of Lost in Shadow came in, my eyes got really big. A chance to dig into this game, and get some fantastic insider information. Your character starts out imprisoned at the top of a tower. Some nasty looking dude cuts your shadow from your body, and throws it down from the tower. From here we get to play the shadow. As a shadow you only interact with other shadows. So the shadow of a wall is what you walk along. This is a lot cooler than I can make it sound in this preview. Not only is this cool, but is is really different. Hudson could have had a fantastic game if they stopped there. They continued on though. Players can manipulate light, and certain objects to manipulate the shadows. The game play mechanics expand dramatically. Your player has to fight off shadow creatures like spiders in order to progress. This is where the 'E10+' for Everyone 10 and older comes in. The ESRB also listed Animated Blood, and Mild Fantasy Violence as the two descriptors. There are shadow realms, and memories to be discovered in Lost in Shadow as well. The memories is how the health is done. Your shadow has a certain weight, and that increases as you find memories. Take a hit, and you lose some of that weight. Defeating monsters also increases the weight. We have to be patient for Lost in Shadow since its projected release date is January 4, in the year of our Lord 2011. I am eagerly awaiting Lost in the Shadow on the Wii. {09/27/2010} - Paul
