Sonic Rivals
I was very excited to be given a copy of Sonic Rivals to review on the Sony Playstation Portable. Sure the game is on the older side, but there are plenty of great games out there that Family Friendly Gaming has not commented on yet. I hoped that Sonic Rivals would be one of those. There are some fun aspects to this game, unfortunately Sega missed the mark. Players get their choice of Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, or Silver where they race against a computer controlled character through a level. No matter what I did I could not beat the first level. Then the game gave me a hint about the homing attack. Press 'X' twice to attack an enemy. This concept works on the rival character as well. Finally I solved how the computer was always catching up to me. This degenerated the main levels to whoever could do that attack closest to the finish line, and thus win. If Sega wants to do this right each character needs their own track. Expect my review of Sonic Rivals to appear in a future issue of the awesome Family Friendly Gaming magazine. {11/30/2008} - Sam
