Lego Batman
The Lego Batman video game has been reviewed on the home consoles, but I wanted to play the Nintendo DS version and see how it stacks up. This hand held video game is Lego Batman toned down for the Nintendo DS. The movies are gone, replaced with pictures that look like they came from a comic book. Since this is Batman it fits perfectly. The graphics are nowhere near as good on the DS as the home console versions. I am actually surprised at how good they are though (editor: for the DS). Many of the suits, skills, and characters are present in this version. The fighting is even more boring, and helps this game earn the E10+ (Everyone 10+) from the ESRB. I believe there is less fighting in this version, and more emphasis on exploration and item collecting. If you want to collect everything in Lego Batman then you will be spending a lot of hours playing the game. The major complaint I have with Lego Batman on the DS is the length of many of the levels. This is a hand held system which means saving very often should be a pre-requisite. Unfortunately a level must be fully completed, so Warner Bros. dropped the ball on that one. The music is classic Batman. Do not expect to hear any voice acting in this game at all. If two gamers have this game, then they can play wireless with one another. It is important to note that both need a copy of this game. Expect a full review to appear in a future issue of this fantastic video game magazine. I hope to have it done for the next issue, but we will see. - Sam
