Mario Strikers Charged

The original Mario Strikers on the Gamecube was rated ‘E’ for Everyone by the ESRB. Mario Strikers Charged on the Nintendo Wii is rated ‘E10+’ with Mild Cartoon Violence, and Crude Humor being the two descriptors. This game does feel like it is designed for a little older crowd than the first one with a few sexual innuendos, and violence being tweaked up a bit. On the other hand the length of matches seems shorter. Speaking of tweaks the difficulty has been increased slightly as well. The artistic nature of this game is evident in the music, and the graphics. The music is some wonderful rockish sounds, and the art is Mushroom Kingdom, but the characters look like they are dressed for a motorcycle race. If you are having trouble finding friends and/or family to play against, then WiFi is also available for up to four people at the same time. This Nintendo Wii game is a worthy successor to the Gamecube game, and will sure to entertain plenty of families. Expect a review to appear in a future issue of the fantastic Family Friendly Gaming. {08/31/2007} - Paul
