UNDERDEEP Coming to Steam

February 25, in the year of our Lord 2026 -- Indie game developer Hakony is proud to announce the upcoming release of UNDERDEEP coming to PC via STEAM™ in 2026. UNDERDEEP offers a comprehensive idle RPG that lets you dive deep into dungeon exploration and mapping, set in a gritty, immersive fantasy world. Produced as a solo-project with a passion and love for the genre, UNDERDEEP features a unique blend of classic RPG gaming with modern idle mechanics. To accelerate and speed up development, the developer has initiated a Crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter, offering a host of cool and exciting rewards and pledges!

In the shadowy forest near the royal capital, a mysterious dungeon teeming with monsters suddenly emerged. The first to enter was an unnamed man, who returned bloodied, clutching a chest of gold. Word spread like wildfire, igniting the hearts of all who craved wealth and fame. Mercenaries with swords, knights chasing glory, and fearless adventurers flocked to the forest. They say a legendary treasure, powerful enough to shake the throne itself, lies hidden deep within. And now, you stand at the entrance. Will you seize your destiny - or be consumed by the darkness? Your story begins here.

UNDERDEEP begins once you have created and customized your playable avatar; at the start of the game, you play as a rookie with no experience at all, but as you gain experience, you can evolve into a wide range of roles, such as a warrior, rogue, ruler, or crafter. Experience a highly flexible job system where your growth determines the path you take. At the heart of dungeon exploration lies mapping. Locations are automatically recorded as you explore, and you can place your own custom markers to keep track of important spots. Your observation and note-taking skills are the key to successful expeditions. The game has emphasis on idle-friendly exploration: whether you prefer hands-on control or automation, you can choose between manual or auto actions during exploration. Set your strategy beforehand, and your character will continue adventuring even while you're away.

UNDERDEEP will include more than 500 unique items ranging from a vast assortment of weapons, armor, accessories, and other objects scattered deep within the dungeon. Use your equipment strategically to challenge increasingly dangerous and rewarding areas. As you gain experience you learn to build your own strategy with unique skill combinations. Some skills can synergize dramatically, amplifying your power. Craft your ultimate build and conquer the depths your way. Throughout your quest, you will sooner or later encounter characters created by other players inside the dungeon. You may customize your dialogue and behavior settings to prepare for these spontaneous meetings. Enjoy a relaxed, asynchronous multiplayer experience that lets you connect without pressure.
