Karlstad, Sweden - October 29, in the year of our Lord 2026 - Clear River Games, a video game publisher specialising in classic game franchises and modern retro, in partnership with developer TAITO CORPORATION (“TAITO”), announced today TAITO MILESTONES 5, the latest epic collection of arcade hits, coming soon to Nintendo® Switch™ via digital download and physical Game Card release.

The fifth entry in the popular series, TAITO MILESTONES 5 delivers yet another generous compilation of 10 coin-up classics, lovingly ported to Nintendo Switch, preserving these important milestones in gaming history forever.

Available via digital download or Game Card release for lovers of physical media, TAITO MILESTONES 5 may just be the most exciting release yet in the series, with an eclectic selection of titles for every taste and every skill level, spanning two decades of arcade history when games were instantly understandable, easy to play, hard to master and guaranteed to have you coming back for more.

Pre-orders for TAITO MILESTONES 5 go live on November 26, 2026 with the game expected to ship both digitally and physically from early 2027.

Shooting, boxing, football, trampolines and even an octopus (yes, an octopus) all feature on TAITO MILESTONES 5, introducing a whole new audience to these classic slices of arcade joy, and a chance to relive the iconic legends for seasoned gamers.

With each title skillfully ported to Nintendo Switch, gamers can take on the challenge solo or play with a friend via local couch co-op across many titles. A number of quality-of-life updates have been included, affording gamers the ability to save anywhere in the games, and play with English text as well as Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian and German. Whether discovering for the first time or reacquainting yourselves with a favourite lost in time, TAITO MILESTONES 5 is another utterly essential collection from the masters of arcade hits.

The full lineup of classics included on TAITO MILESTONES 5 are as follows:

SPACE INVADERS - Released: 1978

Needing no introduction this was the one that started it all. Defend Earth from descending alien ‘Invaders’ waves single handed, armed with your trusty laser cannon scrolling left and right, blasting enemies while taking cover behind destructible shields. As Invaders thin out, they speed up, increasing the tension and challenge.

ARKANOID REVENGE OF DOH* - Released: 1987

Bounce balls to destroy blocks, collect power-ups, and defeat enemies. New mechanics, like regenerating bricks, tougher layouts, and boss battles that culminate in a rematch with the evil DOH...

LAND SEA AND AIR SQUAD (STORMING PARTY in EU) - Released: 1986

A run-and-gun shooter where players battle through enemy territory on foot and in commandeered tanks, boats, and helicopters. Use machine guns and grenades to blast enemies, destroy bosses, and advance across land, sea, and air.

PLUMP POP* - Released: 1987

A chaotic classic! Run back and forth carrying a trampoline and get your child to jump to defeat enemies and clear stages.

FINAL BLOW - Released: 1988

Step into the ring in a boxing game where you battle opponents using punches, blocks, and careful timing to land a final blow.

CRIME CITY - Released: 1989

A high-octane side-scrolling, run-and-gun shooter where two street cops battle waves of criminals through six crime-filled, action-packed stages.

FOOTBALL CHAMP (HAT TRICK HERO) - Released: 1990

An arcade soccer game featuring simple controls and with an emphasis on short action-packed matches. Easy to play, hard to put down!

SAGAIA (DARIUS II) - Released: 1989

A horizontal shoot-’em-up, better known as Darius II outside of America. Pilot your Silver Hawk craft, tackling endless waves of alien enemies and enormous, eye-popping bosses. Memorable for the fan-favourite giant hermit crab named Yamato, who uses a battleship of the same name as its shell. If you know, you know!

EXTERMINATION - Released: 1987

A frantic arcade shooter where you take on hordes of enemies across multiple bullet-filled stages. Blast your way through hostile forces, collect power ups, upgrade your firepower and dodge relentless attacks, in this breathless shooter for the ages.

MARINE DATE - Released: 1981

Play as an octopus and reunite with your fishy friend. Use a limited number of water jets to navigate the underwater maze. Part puzzle, part minigolf, all fun: try to time your jets and swim to your octopus-girlfriend to complete each stage.

TAITO MILESTONES 5 is available to pre-order on Nintendo Switch via digital download or physical Game card from November 26, and is expected to begin starting January 28, 2027 for an MSRP of $29,99 (Digital), $39.99 (Physical) / €24,99 (Digital) / €34.99 (Physical).

*These titles can be played using a choice of traditional Joy-Con™2 or Bluetooth® controllers, as well as any commercially available USB mouse. In addition, these games are also compatible with the officially licensed HORI® Arcade Classic Pro Arcade Stick, featuring interchangeable sticks ,paddles and even trackballs!
