Shujinkou Adds Trading Cards

Tokyo, Japan — July 25, in the year of our Lord 2026 — Rice Games Inc. is pleased to announce that Steam Trading Cards and additional Steam community items are now available for Shujinkou®, the studio’s flagship JRPG.

Players can now collect 15 Steam Trading Cards by playing Shujinkou on Steam. The cards feature a selection of illustrations from the game, giving fans a new way to collect artwork from the world, characters, and visual style of Shujinkou. Find Shujinkou on Steam here:

In addition to trading cards, the new Steam community item rollout includes badges, 10 emoticons, 10 profile backgrounds, and a wide selection of Steam avatars (40+) featuring characters from Shujinkou. These additions give players more ways to personalize their Steam profiles and celebrate their favorite characters from the game.

Shujinkou is also currently back on sale on Steam, making this a strong opportunity for new players to begin the adventure or for existing fans to recommend the game to others.

Upcoming Shujinkou Updates
Rice Games also shared a brief look at what is currently in development for Shujinkou.

The next major update, v1.46, is planned to integrate working leaderboards into the game. This feature will allow players to compare minigame scores and various other stats with other players around the world. Rice Games is aiming to release the update before the current sale ends.

The studio also confirmed that the Shujinkou trademark has reached its final “Registered” state with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, marking another important business milestone for the young independent studio.

Rice Games is also preparing a major surprise related to Shujinkou, which is planned to be announced in the coming weeks. While more details are being reserved for the official reveal, the studio noted that significant work remains underway behind the scenes.

Regarding the next title in the trilogy, Shujinkou 2, Rice Games pointed players toward its recent BitSummit and KYOTO CMEX coverage for more information on the project’s current progress. More concrete details on the sequel will be shared at a later time.

The studio also recently updated the text on Shujinkou’s Steam storefront page to better communicate the game's scope, features, and overall experience to new players.

Continued Support for Shujinkou
Since launch, Rice Games has continued to support Shujinkou with updates, improvements, new features, bug fixes, and quality-of-life changes. The studio stated that, as with previous updates and patches released over the last 16+ months, these ongoing updates remain free for players.

Rice Games emphasized that continued player support across platforms has helped the studio remain independent while continuing to develop, improve, and expand Shujinkou as a growing global franchise.

The studio plans to continue supporting Shujinkou with additional updates, improvements, and new features based on internal development priorities as well as player feedback and community suggestions.
