Family Friendly Gaming News
REDMOND, Wash.--(August 16, in the year of our Lord 2026)--
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company group have announced that global
sales of the Pokémon Pokopia game have surpassed 5 million units
across physical and digital versions, just over four months after
its launch on March 5, 2026. The game is available exclusively for
the Nintendo Switch 2 system.
Pokémon Pokopia is a relaxing life simulation game devoted to
crafting and building. Players take on the role of a peculiar Ditto
and restore a desolate land using its transformation skills and
surprising new crafting abilities. As players cultivate the world’s
natural beauty, they’ll encounter more Pokémon to work together with
and build their very own cozy utopia. Plus, a free software update
is out now for all Pokémon Pokopia players, adding a new Dive1 move
that allows Ditto to explore underwater.
In the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC2, players can look
forward to three parts of additional content to expand their Pokémon
paradise. Part 1: Bubbly Basin is available now and features an
underwater town with more Pokémon to discover, new furniture to
build, new food to prepare and more. Check out the launch trailer
here.
Part 2 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC will release
in late 2026, introducing accessories for Pokémon to wear. Part 3 is
scheduled for release in 2027, so please stay tuned for more
information. The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is available to
purchase on Nintendo eShop.
Remember that Nintendo Switch 2 features parental controls that let
adults manage the content their children can access.
