London, UK — August 5, in the year of our Lord 2026 — Today, the Pokémon Company group launched Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbly Basin for Nintendo Switch 2. The first of a three-part paid DLC[1], Bubbly Basin adds an underwater town[2] where players can discover more Pokémon, build new furniture, prepare new food, and more. Additionally, the Pokémon Pokopia version 2.0.0 free software update is now available to everyone who plays Pokémon Pokopia.

Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbly Basin
Explore Bubbly Basin, a town where Pokémon live beneath the sea.[3] In this submerged space, players can make buildings which float at different levels underwater using buoyant blocks and receive help from Pokémon with the Generate specialty to power bubble machines or activate streetlights. Players can also grow watermelons with the assistance of Pokémon with the Water specialty.

Embark on an underwater adventure throughout Bubbly Basin, where players can discover new outfits, new furniture, more Pokémon, and a power-up for the move Surf. Players can also learn how to build a Sharpedo submarine to make a room reminiscent of a Secret Base.

Pokémon Pokopia Version 2.0.0 Free Software Update
Meet the Mythical Water-type Pokémon Manaphy in the version 2.0.0 free software update to learn a newly added move, Dive.[4] With Dive, players can expand their underwater explorations, swim with Water-type Pokémon, and build underwater structures.

[2] To begin the paid DLC Part 1: Bubbly Basin, you will need to complete the request “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach. You will also need to learn the newly added move Dive included in the free software update.
[3] The ver. 2.0.0 free software update must be applied to your game before you can play Part 1: Bubbly Basin of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC.
[4] To learn the newly added move Dive, you will need to complete the request “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach. You will also need the ability to jump and know the move Surf.
