Family Friendly Gaming News
Karlstad, Sweden – May 29, in the year of our Lord 2026
– Clear River Games, a video game publisher specialising in
classic and retro games, in partnership with developers City
Connection, today announced a double bill of bullets, as Muchi Muchi
Pork! & PinkSweets Boosted arrive in the West, coming on October 1,
2026 to PlayStation®5 and Nintendo® Switch™.
Available via Digital Download on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch,
with physical versions confirmed for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation
5, both games arrive in one great value bundle, guaranteeing
non-stop action, eye-popping graphics, Japanese humour and finely
tuned bullet-hell gameplay, courtesy of master of the art, CAVE.
A punishing yet extremely rewarding vertical shooter, Muchi Muchi
Pork! will test the limits of even the fastest of fingers. When the
evil General Pork Fillet arrives from his home planet of Iberiko,
mayhem ensues, as he transforms a trio of unsuspecting heroes (Momo,
Ikuo and Rafute) from Butaduka City into pig-girls! Their only hope
is to take to their flying bikes (known as ‘Ketta Machines’), as
they take on the nefarious General across five gruelling stages of
bullet-hell in the hope of seeing off the evil armada of colourful
characters.
In Muchi Muchi Pork!, scoring is based around a unique Medal
Chaining System, with enemies dropping pig-head medals which quickly
soar in value providing gamers consistently collect them, without
dropping any in a chain. Drop a medal and watch your multiplier drop
like yesterday’s bacon! The innovative Lard Attack System sees
players collecting parachuting pigs which fill your lard meter
progressively. More lard means more power, allowing gamers to
activate a powerful yet movement-slowing attack!
Bombs mean bacon in Muchi Muchi Pork!, with bombs converting bullets
into collectible pigs, ideal for building up your lard supply. Ham
it up, defeat the General and restore order to your world in this
hilarious, challenging and gorgeously unique CAVE classic!
A favourite in 2006 Japanese arcades, PinkSweets is yet another hit
from CAVE. The celebrated sequel to Ibara, PinkSweets is again a
vertical shooter, leaning into a system-driven design inspired by
the grand masters of classic arcade blasters.
Choose from a total of four unique ships, each armed with two
alternative shot types, as you launch into seven blistering stages
of bullet-hell action. Notoriously challenging, PinkSweets will test
the nerves of shooting fans everywhere, as the game dynamically
adjusts to skilful play, ramping up the difficulty and attempting to
stop players in their tracks, never letting up for a second and
resulting into a breathtaking, adrenaline packed spectacle.
In PinkSweets, each ship comes equipped with the Rose Cracker
Shield, protecting players from certain enemy attacks, charged by
not firing your main weapon. Further aiding in your fight back,
Rosehips surround players’ ships, protecting them from attacks, and
which can be repositioned on the fly to block the incoming carnage.
In PinkSweets, gamers must swap bullets for brains, with success
coming from the fiendish game mechanic, understanding when to back
off, when to hold fire, and when to let the deep scoring mechanic
rack up. Not for the faint hearted, Pink Sweets is a standout jewel
from the CAVE catalogue of shooters.
Muchi Muchi Pork! & PinkSweets Boosted will be available via Digital
Download from October 1, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch
for an MSRP of $39.99 / €34.99.
Muchi Muchi Pork! & PinkSweets Boosted will be available physically
for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch from October 29, 2026 with an
MSRP of $54.99 / €49.99.
