game developer Naturally Intelligent (Canada) has announced a May 1
2026 release date for Forehead Chip, a retro pixel-art platformer
inspired by 80s and 90s sci-fi.
Play as young CHIP, a recruit in the Implant Corps. Prove your worth
to your friends and family by winning the coveted, one-of-a-kind
implant: the Forehead Chip. Explore city locations, interact with
characters across the societal divide, and pick your choices to
determine the future of Arca City. Conquer and dominate... or is
there another path? There are multiple endings to unlock and the
Forehead Chip is up for grabs. Will you get it, or will someone
else?
It’s all about maintaining order. And it’s your job to capture
Holdouts. So you need to know the drill:
- Manage your supply of implant bullets in tactical combat
- Don’t just destroy your foes - capture them!
- Wield a variety of distinctively controlled weapons
- Fuse your ammo by injecting logic capsules that affect their
behaviour
- Don’t forget to ask your Sergeant and Commander for tips
Use skills, tactics, and trigger-conscious precision against enemies
and obstacles:
- Tight, tuned, responsive controls
- 50+ types of enemies to fight and capture
- Four different districts to dropship into
- Unlock new abilities and game modes
Forehead Chip offers multiple gameplay modes:
- Single-Player Campaign story mode with various paths and over a
dozen endings
- Capture Holdouts side-by-side with 2 Player Couch Co-op
- Up to 4 Player PVP / Teams Couch Multiplayer for laughs and yells
