Final Fantasy VII Revelation Release Date

Hamburg (September 3, in the year of our Lord 2026) – Square Enix today released a new trailer and extensive new gameplay footage for FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION during PlayStation's State of Play, announcing the game's release date. FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION, THE STUNNING FINALE TO ONE OF THE MOST AMBITIOUS PROJECTS IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY, LAUNCHES ON April 8, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC.

Players experience a world without borders in the new trailer and in the gameplay deep dive. Every corner of a truly open planet can be explored aboard the legendary airship Highwind. Piko, the loyal chocobo, evolves together with the group and learns new locomotion and fighting skills. Master the perfected version of the series' acclaimed hybrid combat system, with new playable characters Cid and Vincent, and the new WEAR system, which gives new abilities and even more power through the specialized roles of Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. In the in-depth gameplay deep dive, Cid and Vincent can be seen wearing the "Knight" and the "Summoner WEAR" respectively.

Today's video footage also reveals new gameplay features. Players can freely switch between their active, controlled character at any time while exploring the world, as well as change the composition of their party. With the new rope gun, roofs can be climbed quickly and the surroundings can be crossed nimbly. The choice of which party members take on certain quests influences the game experience individually and determines how events and scenarios develop.
