Color-A-Cube Releases

Family Friendly Gaming News

Belgium, June 12, in the year of our Lord 2026 - After months of early access growth and community feedback, Color-A-Cube officially launches in full on Meta Quest and PICO, on June 18th.

With crisp clicks, satisfying pops, and sparkling visual effects, the relaxing VR coloring experience turns simple interactions into something surprisingly rewarding.

Just announced in the UploadVR showcase, the 1.0 release includes over 100 voxel models, new story-driven coloring experiences, ongoing weekly free updates, and crossover content - and a growing community of players who didn’t expect to fall for a cozy game.

Simple by Design
Color-A-Cube combines voxel art with color-by-numbers gameplay, a simple idea that shows that creativity doesn't have to be complicated. It strikes a balance between structure and imagination, with a simple "brain goes brrr" appeal that has earned it a place in many players' daily or weekly rhythm.

An Unexpected Audience
For many players, Color-A-Cube isn’t just another cozy game, it’s their first. Whether jumping in after an intense VR session or winding down after a long day, players aren’t just playing the game, it’s something they use to relax, switch off, and slow down.

For some, it even feels therapeutic.

But what surprised the team most was who kept coming back.

“We keep hearing from players who say they never expected to enjoy something like this,” said Ken Steyls, Creative Director at AlterEyes. “But that’s exactly why the game resonates. It gives people a way to slow down and decompress without overthinking it.”

Alongside traditional cozy players, that unexpected audience helped Color-A-Cube grow a loyal and diverse community throughout Early Access, with player feedback helping shape the game’s features, content drops, and eventual 1.0 release.

What’s New in 1.0
The full release introduces a significant expansion of content, improvements and features:

100+ voxel models available at launch from iconic landmarks and ancient Rome to cozy autumn scenes, retro tech, food creations, vehicles, fantasy creatures, and seasonal worlds
Enhanced visuals, completion animations, and polish across the experience
Story-driven coloring experiences: players color their way through changing scenes and narratives, from seasonal dioramas to playful story arcs like a dinosaur’s journey from meteor impact to museum exhibit.

A Living, Growing Experience
Even at 1.0, Color-A-Cube isn’t standing still. The game continues to develop with:

Weekly free model drops
Monthly DLC releases
Ongoing feature updates
It has already featured crossover content with titles like Dave the Diver, GORN, and Dead Cells. At launch, players can enjoy content from Finspan, with a collaboration with Puzzling Places planned next.

Flexible Content Access
Color-A-Cube will be available as a premium title for €7.99 following its free early access period. Players can:

Stick with the base game and free updates
Purchase individual DLC packs (and try a sample of every DLC for free)
Or unlock everything through the Color Pass, which grants access to all current and future DLC content
