Bergwerk A Mining Sim Announced
Family Friendly Gaming News
Paderborn, Germany, 3rd August in the year of our Lord 2026:
Aerosoft and Hindsight Studios are pleased to announce Bergwerk - A
Mining Sim, a detailed coal mining simulation set in the fictional
German coal region of Grubental. The game is planned for PC,
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and challenges players to build,
manage, and expand their own colliery, from the first above-ground
structures to the deepest underground coal seams.
Starting with a small operation, a patch of land and trusted
pickaxe, players must plan their mining company from the ground up,
growing their local mining business into a major player in the
global coal industry. In top-down view, they can acquire new
terrain, design the layout of their colliery, and construct
headframes, storage facilities, processing plants, and other key
buildings according to their own strategy. What begins as a modest
site can grow into a complex industrial operation, shaped step by
step through the player’s decisions, ready to head underground.
In Bergwerk - A Mining Sim, players descend shaft by shaft into
multi-level mines, where each level is procedurally generated with
dynamic coal seams, different coal qualities, and new structural
challenges. Galleries, crosscuts, shafts, hoists, and transport
routes can be planned freely, allowing players to develop their mine
without fixed grids or predetermined solutions.
Players must master mine statics by placing supports strategically
to withstand simulated load distribution, as unsecured tunnels can
collapse. At the same time, one must keep vital underground
infrastructure running, balancing power supply, water management,
ventilation, gas control, and dust management to keep the mine safe
and productive.
Coal can be extracted using a range of realistic mining methods,
from manual work with pickaxes and explosives to advanced longwall
or room-and-pillar mining. As the company grows, players can unlock
and operate more than 15 drivable heavy machines, including mine
trains, shaft hoists, wheel loaders, shuttle vehicles, and the
licensed MAN TGX above ground.
Every successful operation depends on logistics too. Coal must be
moved efficiently through custom transport networks made from
conveyor belts, skip hoists, rail systems, trucks, and other
machinery. Buy new vehicles as your business grows and ensure to
keep them in good condition, as reliability, wear, breakdowns, and
maintenance windows add another layer of realism to the planning of
your daily mining operations.
Once coal reaches the surface, players must respond to a dynamic
economy, selling their yield on fluctuating markets, taking out
loans for expansion, and investing in better machinery,
infrastructure, and processing systems. With its open sandbox
structure, day-night and weather systems, and procedurally generated
underground world, every mine in Grubental develops differently.
All the features not to be missed:
Build your own colliery: Acquire land, plan your site in top-down
view, and construct headframes, storage facilities, processing
plants, and more.
Authentic coal mining simulation: Explore, extract, transport,
process, and sell coal across a complete mining production chain.
Procedural underground levels: Descend into multi-level mines with
dynamic coal seams, different coal qualities, and changing layouts.
Free-form excavation: Plan galleries, crosscuts, shafts, and mining
routes without grid constraints.
Realistic mining methods: Use longwall mining, room-and-pillar
mining, explosives, manual tools, and heavy-duty extraction
machinery.
Mine statics and tunnel safety: Place supports carefully, manage
simulated load distribution, and prevent unsecured tunnels from
collapsing.
Underground infrastructure: Balance power, water management,
ventilation, gas control, and dust management.
Over 15 drivable machines: Operate heavy equipment underground and
above ground, including mine vehicles and the licensed MAN TGX.
Complex logistics: Build transport chains using conveyor belts, rail
systems, skip hoists, trucks, and automated systems.
Dynamic economy: React to changing coal prices, take out loans,
invest in expansion, and grow your mining company.
Open sandbox in Grubental: Build your own mining operation in a
fictional German coal region with day-night and weather systems.
Whether carefully planning a new shaft, reinforcing unstable
tunnels, driving heavy machinery through narrow underground routes,
or timing a coal sale for the best market price, Bergwerk - A Mining
Sim is about turning a small colliery into a powerful mining company
through planning, precision, and hard work.
