eFootball Reveals 30th Anniversary Content

LOS ANGELES – July 21, in the year of our Lord 2025 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. continues to celebrate the 30th anniversary of eFootball™ with exciting updates, Legendary player debuts, and global fan activities revealed during the eFootball™ World Festival in Tokyo. At this event, Zico appeared as a special guest and celebrated the 30th anniversary of the eFootball™ series.

Zico’s comment “It’s an honor and a pleasure to be here with KONAMI. I’m grateful for my time as manager of the Japan National Team. I look back fondly on those moments where we achieved many great victories together and helped raise Japan’s name on the world stage. New Legend, Wayne Rooney!

As part of the celebrations, legendary players like England's hero Wayne Rooney and former Wales icon Gareth Bale will join as Epic Legends Assemble starting from 21 July. Rooney will debut in a special design to commemorate the 30th anniversary with many new Legends being added throughout the year featuring a design as special as Roony’s.

Additionally, as part of the countdown rewards beginning July 21 there will be a free chance deal for one of fifteen players that will be distributed. A selection contract also makes it possible to choose one person by logging in and fulfilling certain conditions. This selection contract will be available to receive from July 24.

Borussia Dortmund Joins the Game!

Starting July 24, Borussia Dortmund will officially join eFootball™. A Club Selection event will be held, featuring eight players from the team, three of whom can be obtained for free as part of a special campaign.

England’s best eleven players will be show up in eFootball™

eFootball™ has newly signed license contract with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA).

The best eleven players who are selected at the PFA award will appear in the game as “2025 PFA Team of the Year” at a later date. Please keep an eye out for the Best Eleven, which will be decided at the PFA Awards scheduled for August!

2026 Season Update Starts Mid-August!

Starting mid-August, new booster Link Up and Treasure Link will be implemented ahead of offline events worldwide.

Link Up is a new manager booster feature that allows two people who meet certain conditions to perform special combination plays or enhance their abilities during specific plays.

Treasure Link is a new feature that allows players to earn rewards by connecting squares vertically, horizontally, and diagonally like a Bingo card. There are three different types of Treasure Link and these can be exchanged with a player’s opponent – and special varieties can also be obtained at upcoming offline events.

eFootball™ 2025 World Finals Results

The eFootball™ 2025 World Finals saw the world’s top players compete for the prestigious title of World Champion in both console and mobile categories. After a weekend of intense matches, Thailand’s BRU_JEANSUI (console) and (Brazil’s JUNINHO EFOOTBALL (mobile) emerged victorious, earning their respective places in eFootball™ history. While the tournament winners drew attention, the event celebrated the skill, strategy, and passion that define the eFootball™ player base.
