Welcome to Empyreum Porting to Xbox and Switch

Family Friendly Gaming News

May 27, in the year of our Lord 2025 -- The most chaotic and hilarious hotel in gaming is opening its doors to even more players. Welcome to Empyreum, the cooperative party game that’s won over PC, PS4, and PS5 players over the past year, arrives this May 29th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Created by indie studio Tapioca Games, this title turns housekeeping and bizarre challenges into an outlandish adventure — from babysitting alien infants and spraying carnivorous plants to escaping ghosts hungry for mayhem. All of it comes wrapped in eccentric characters and absurd tasks for up to 4 players on Switch, and 2 players on Xbox.

With its explosive mix of action, strategy, and humor, Welcome to Empyreum has earned a place in the hearts of streamers, families, and groups of friends looking for an unforgettable co-op experience. Now, with its release on new platforms, even more players can dive into the madness of this enchanted hotel, where nothing is ever what it seems.

Visual humor and unpredictable scenarios make every session of Welcome to Empyreum a riot — whether you win or lose.

The game’s quirky cast — including Tommy, the narcissistic influencer; Miriam, the overwhelmed mom; Elisabeth, the lucky little girl; and Apollo, the brooding musician — brings even more personality and surprises to the hotel’s wild floors. This approach isn’t just about laughs; it softens the sting of defeat and reminds everyone that in Welcome to Empyreum, the real goal is having fun.

About the studio: Tapioca Games is an indie video game studio based in Madrid, Spain.
