Ripple Island Kyle and Cal's Restaurant Releases
Family Friendly Gaming News
Nagoya, Japan – November 27, in the year of our Lord 2025
- SUNSOFT, the game brand of Sun Denshi Co., Ltd. (Ryusuke Uchiumi,
Representative Director and President; TSE Standard: 6736), is
excited to announce that the chaotic cooperative restaurant
management game, 'Ripple Island: Kyle and Cal's Restaurant,'
featuring intense cooperative play with up to 16 players, is now on
sale for Nintendo Switch™ 2 and Steam® starting today for $38.99,
Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The game is an arrangement of the original story into a cooking
game, a collaborative cooking action and party game where players
can experience all aspects of restaurant operation, including
fishing, growing and harvesting vegetables and fruits, cooking, and
customer service.
During a recent Closed Beta Test, participants shared feedback
ranging from "The difficulty is too high!" to "shock" and "praise"
for the "extremely challenging," yet distinctively SUNSOFT-like,
balance. After adjusting this "great chaos," the official launch is
finally here. Experience the challenging cooperative gameplay that
evokes the spirit of the Famicom era.
Game Features
1. Online Cooperative Cooking Game with up to 16 Players
The main mode, "Minna de Restaurant" (Everyone's Restaurant), is a
chaotic cooking experience full of unexpected events. Players divide
into roles such as: Kitchen, Hall, Farmer, and Treasure and must
cooperate! Tasks include collecting ingredients, preparing dishes,
delivering to customers, cleaning the hall, and taking care of pets.
Cooperation and division of labor are the keys to conquering up to 6
stages within the limited time.
Up to 8 people can participate in "Minna de Restaurant" on a single
console.
2. Rich Offline/Solo Play Content
The game can be played with up to 4 people on a single console. The
"Adventure Part (Solo Play)" mode follows the world view of the
previous work, where players can experience a challenging
"one-person operation" (often referred to as oni no one-ope or
"demon's solo operation" in Japanese) of the restaurant, including
fishing, growing vegetables, cooking, and serving customers.
3. A Return to the Classic 'Ripple Island'
The original Ripple Island, released on January 23, 1988, for the
Famicom, was a command-selection adventure game. It was beloved for
its warm visuals, heartwarming story, and unique characters, like
the protagonist Cal. The new game recreates the original's animal
characters faithfully in 3D and features a story arranged in a
cooking game style.
