Mineshaft Early Access

Boise, Idaho, May 13th in the year of our Lord 2025: Indie game developer Zack Black publishing as Z Sculpt Entertainment is proud to announce the Early Access release of Mineshaft now available on PC and MacOS® via STEAM™. Scheduled for a final release later this summer, Mineshaft challenges you to use falling blocks to craft shovels, pickaxes, bombs and other tools to dig deeper underground to uncover valuable resources and magical artifacts to complete your quest! You can craft coins to buy upgrades for tools and special abilities and even join a friend for classic PVP puzzle battles, where combos drop trash onto your opponent's playfield!

Mineshaft offers a unique blend of gaming genres to create a new and interesting gameplay experience; using the falling blocks mechanic of Tetris® and the resource gathering and crafting elements of Minecraft®, your task is to beat a falling blocks game where you must craft shovels, pickaxes, bombs and other tools to dig your way deeper into various mining locations to complete your quest! The Early Access version currently available offers a single quest including 64 map locations, which in time will become a procedurally generated environment offering more biomes and special bonus areas. You can also partake in a 2-player battle PVP, and the full release is planned to include a battle-mode for up to 4 players. Coins are essential to leveling up, and you can craft coins to purchase upgrades to your tools and unlock special magic abilities! The Early Access version has 27 upgrades and abilities and many more will be available in the final build.

Mineshaft incorporates a map of different locations where the available crafting resources will change based on the current environment, such as forests, deserts, mountains, and more. Combos are a powerful feature and can be achieved in one of two ways: a crafted tool causes the pieces to fall in a way that triggers a second (or third, etc.) item to craft as well, adding multiple tools to your inventory. A digging combo works similarly but is initially triggered by using tools to remove blocks. Combos can be initiated in almost infinitely possible layouts, and the developer intends to produce a special tutorial for the final game that exclusively focuses on combos.
