Birdseed VR Major Update

Vancouver, British Columbia, November 18, in the year of our Lord 2025: Buffalo Buffalo is excited to announce the first "Quality of Life” update of many leading up to the game’s official launch! Featuring bug fixes and quality of life improvements, a fresh new Field Journal, a notification system to improve your shots, and a few more feathered friends.

Introducing the brand new Field Journal, a handy tool for all birdwatchers alike! With the Field Journal, players can now track the newly added daily challenges with varying mission types. By completing challenges, players will receive bottlecaps which can be exchanged for future goods and tools. Alongside daily missions, the new Field Journal also keeps track of past photographs. If you look even closer, you might be able to pick up some hints for our next update hidden in the journal.

Think you’ve caught a glimpse of every bird? Think again! This new update also introduces a handful of new birds. Be sure to keep an eye in the sky as new birds are coming to a neighbourhood near you. If you’re ever unsure of what you’re looking for, have a look at the list of birds in your area today via your Field Journal.

Alongside the Field Journal and new birds, we’ve added a real-time feedback system. Gone are the days of wondering if challenges were completed or if birds were too far for your lens. The real-time feedback system now gives immediate notifications.

Confused about the scoring? We recently added a new scoring system for all our pro Birders - each shot taken now has a star rating up to 3. Snap high quality pics to meet star ratings for daily challenges.

Updated daily challenges - Challenges now change every single day, with new mission types to explore

Real-time feedback system - Is that bird too far for your lens? Did you just complete a challenge? Get real-time feedback from our new notification system.

New scoring system for all our pro Birders - You’ll notice on each shot you’ll receive stars instead of numbers now, up to 3 total! Challenges will now sometimes require a certain star rating to complete

Lots of quality of life features, including:

Information and photos now save between sessions

Patched issues with the camera zoom breaching terrain

Patched issues with scoring system not recognizing certain behaviours

Patched issues with birds despawning.
