64-bit emulation comes to Evercade

February 16, in the year of our Lord 2024 -- LETCHWORTH, UK: Blaze Entertainment has today announced another new system supported by Evercade and Super Pocket consoles with the announcement of 64-bit console games coming to Evercade Cartridges.

The cult classic title Glover will be released in its 64-bit version on the upcoming Piko Interactive Collection 4 physical cartridge. Having been rebuilt from scratch by studio Byteswap Labs and Maximilian Wendell, Blaze Entertainment has been able to add some modern optimisations along with refinements for Evercade including control optimisation for Evercade and Super Pocket consoles, and the addition of a cameo from Evercade mascot - Cadey!

Glover is a 3D platforming title released in 1998 for PC, 32-bit and 64-bit console systems. The 64-bit version garnered the most critical acclaim at the time of its release with IGN reviewer Matt Casamassina from his 1998 review remarking, "...until you've rolled a ball around a level with a walking hand, well, you're just missing out on the best things in life."

Since its original release, it has become a cult-classic among retro game fans and thanks to Piko Interactive, is one of a few third-party games that has been available in its 64-bit form.

In addition to Glover, Piko Interactive Collection 4 contains a total of ten games, and marks the fifth named cartridge release on Evercade from Piko Interactive with over 42 games released across all collections with everything from 8, 16, 32 and 64-bit consoles as well as arcade games with great titles that many retro gamers will be familiar with or be discovering for the first time.
