Gadgeteer Playstation VR Release Date

May 14th, in the year of our Lord 2021 -- Gadgeteer is a virtual reality game where players solve puzzles and create machines in Rube Goldberg fashion.

Over the past four years, Metanaut (the game’s developers) have tuned and improved the game to make it accessible for all, but also nuanced and expansive enough for the most inventive builders. Paired with the freedom of virtual reality, the possibilities in Gadgeteer go far beyond real world limits.

Specific to PlayStation VR, players can choose to reach into their machines with the Move controllers or sit back with the DualShock 4 / DualSense controllers.

The game is split into two distinct modes: “Puzzle Mode” and “Maker Mode”.

“Puzzle Mode” is the perfect starting point for new builders and VR novices. It features 60 levels and 100 gadgets to build with, taking players from simple domino runs to wall-scaling machines. Should they need more, puzzles made by the Gadgeteer community across all VR platforms are available to download and play.

Of course, Gadgeteer is just as much about creating as it is consuming. In “Maker Mode”, the entire playspace opens up and becomes your canvas. We’ve added additional gadgets in this mode to elevate your work to new heights (literally). Whether it’s a puzzle, a marble race track, or a catapult assembly—anything players make can be shared online.

Gadgeteer will be available worldwide on the PlayStation Store for $14.99 USD on May 25th, 2021. The game requires a PlayStation VR headset and is playable on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

No word on a physical copy version of this game on this system(s) in the US at this time. Families are required to pay for Internet usage fees to download this game. For more information click here.
