Want to play a Demo?
Family Friendly Gaming News
Cordova, TN; April 6, in the year of our Lord 2026 --
Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the
family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of
diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. Recently I
received an email from someone asking if I wanted to play a demo
of their game. I went to the FFG Originals page because I was
convinced I wrote about this topic and there was a story there.
Maybe the story was in one of the e-magazines. I could not find
it. So I decided it was time to ensure there was an article to
answer this question. Not that anyone in any of these companies
will ever bother to do their due diligence and read it before
asking the question. It is so much easier to irritate and annoy
us with your selfishness than to actually do your jobs properly.
The answer to - do I want to play your demo is NO! Okay maybe
that was a bit on the harsh side. I have zero interest in
playing the demo of anything. Let me explain myself. I am not
interested in being an unpaid quality assurance tester. If you
are offering me payment for my time then I would consider
playing your demo. Otherwise I am not your slave. I refuse to be
treated as such. I am sick and tired of the giving feedback and
getting arguments in response from people. I give you my honest
feedback in reviews, and previews. Too many game developers see
their games as their babies and cannot see outside of their own
perspective.
I do not like playing games that are not finished. I do not like
playing games that still need work. I am sick and tired of
hearing - the final product will have this or have that. I have
been lied too way too many times. I am sick of people in PR and
Marketing lying to me about what will or won't be in the final
product. It is one of the reasons I stopped going to the video
game conferences in person. I love being able to react to some
livestream of a company and make comments or pause it to point
things out. We gave out E3 Awards to companies that promised
things and they did not deliver. That experience still sticks in
my mind. On top of that I have a pile of games in the physical
copy format that I have not had time to get to. Your demo is
below all of those in my priority listing. Odds are the game
will release before I even consider playing it.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
