Panopticon Releases

Family Friendly Gaming News

December 28, in the year of our Lord 2025 -- In Panopticon, players take on the role of a part-time café worker whose ordinary job quickly spirals into a series of unsettling events. The café owner constantly monitors employees through a network of security cameras, sending instructions via text messages. The player’s every action is tracked and evaluated in real time, forming a surveillance-driven gameplay system where repeated mistakes can directly lead to a game over.

The game offers a grounded café work simulation, including making coffee, mopping floors, and cleaning dishes. These tasks rely on interactive mechanics such as quick-time events and mouse-drag operations, requiring attention and precision instead of simple button presses. Beyond routine café work, Panopticon incorporates some of classic adventure-game puzzle sections also.

Story-driven dialogue scenes are presented using Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman. Detailed facial expressions and cinematic camera work reinforce the tension and psychological pressure created by constant surveillance. As the narrative unfolds, players are pushed to uncover the hidden truth behind the café and the motives of those watching them.
