STOCKHOLM and TORONTO – August 18, in the year of our Lord 2026
– Paradox Arc, the publishing label of Paradox
Interactive, today announced a publishing partnership with Blue
Isle Studios for their survival-crafting creature collector
adventure game Guardians of the Wild Sky. Set to release in
Steam Early Access next year, Guardians of the Wild Sky invites
players to sail through the skies on their trusty airship and
explore a massive world with unique floating biomes that teem
with life, hidden treasures, and dangerous creatures.
Learn more details about the partnership and the road to release
in the latest video developer diary, featuring Blue Isle
Studios’ Co-Founder Brenden Frank and Paradox Arc’s Business
Developer Denis Komatina.
Developed by Blue Isle Studios, creators of Slender: The
Arrival, Valley, and Citadel: Forged with Fire, Guardians of the
Wild Sky challenges players to survive, build, craft, explore
and capture creatures in a vast magical world in the skies.
Playable solo offline or cooperatively with up to four other
adventurers, players capture and befriend elemental magical
companions known as Guardians. Possessing unique abilities and
traits, these extraordinary creatures help players navigate the
skies, from supporting their base or airship crew to fighting
alongside them in combat.
With a deep crafting system and mod support available from day
one, players can design and build near-limitless creations, from
cozy cottages and flying castles to the mightiest vessels of
war. From there, they will set out into a living, breathing
world filled with dynamic environments and climates, diverse
wildlife, unique landmarks, and treacherous foes, where every
adventure brings new discoveries and challenges.
“We’ve spent years building Guardians of the Wild Sky into the
game we’ve always wanted it to be, and partnering with Paradox
gives us the opportunity to take that vision even further,” said
Alex Tintor, Co-Founder at Blue Isle Studios. “They understand
how to work closely with the community, share our ambition for
where it can go, and bring the experience and resources to help
us deliver something truly exceptional. For a small team like
ours, this partnership is a huge milestone, and we couldn’t be
more excited about what comes next.”
“Guardians of the Wild Sky is shaping up to become something
truly special, built by a fantastic team that shares our passion
for creating lasting games with endless replayability," said
Denis Komatina, Business Developer at Paradox Arc. "The feedback
from players has been strong so far, and we look forward to
working with Blue Isle Studios to build on that momentum ahead
of the game’s planned early access launch next year.”
