Karlstad, Sweden – September 8, in the year of our Lord
2026 - Clear River Games, a video game publisher
specialising in classic and retro games, in partnership with
developers City Connection and in cooperation with series
creators Omiya Soft, announced today that the highly-regarded
1997 strategy title Culdcept The First Saturn Tribute, arrives
today digitally on Nintendo® Switch™, PlayStation®5 and XBOX
Series X|S to accompany the PC version of the game which was
launched at the end of July this year. A physical version of the
game is expected to ship in November of this year.
Much loved by fans of the original 1997 release, Culdcept The
First Saturn Tribute is back, bringing its fiendishly addictive
mix of board-game strategy and card-based combat to a brand-new
audience of soon-to-be-fans. Ready to sate the appetites of
players who love to think before they pounce, the deep strategic
gameplay and enchanting fantasy world has kept players returning
to the series year after year. This enhanced version, complete
with English subtitles for the very first time, also features a
range of quality of life updates to enthrall Western audiences
who have never experienced the joy of the deep gameplay
mechanics that are the cornerstone of the Culdcept experience.
Set within the mythical universe of Culdra Space, Culdcept The
First Saturn Tribute is set within a fantastical place created
by the false goddess Culdra, where players step into the shoes
of a Cepter, a powerful adventurer wielding a book containing a
self-constructed 50-card deck. Deep within the heart of this
mysterious world lies Culdcept, a legendary book said to possess
the power of creation itself. The journey to become the ultimate
Cepter is fraught with danger - with every roll of the dice,
players traverse the board, strategically building their
territory, while at the same time summoning all manner of
strange and extraordinary creatures to aid in their battle.
Players of the game, also known as Cepters, can claim and defend
their territories by carefully placing their creatures across
the map, while at the same time using Spell Cards to enhance
their choices, each one offering a different way to turn the
tide of battle and evade defeat. Manipulate dice rolls,
strengthen your creatures, disrupt opponents and outwit rival
Cepters in a strategic battle where every decision could mean
the difference between victory and defeat.
With its addictive fusion of board game tactics, deck-building
strategy and fantasy adventure, Culdcept The First Saturn
Tribute invites a new generation of players to discover exactly
why this cult classic has remained so captivating for fans
around the world.
