Thunder Spikes Volleyball Announced

Family Friendly Gaming News

Milan, Italy, August 26th in the year of our Lord 2025: Indie game developer and publisher Thunder Bros srl is proud to announce the upcoming release of Thunder Spikes Volleyball. Scheduled for an Early Access release on PC via STEAM™ around October and a planned full release penned for Q1 of 2026, Thunder Spikes Volleyball aims to bring the excitement of volleyball back into video games with an approach that is accessible and deep, with a promise to deliver the most arcade accurate gameplay experience in volleyball.

Thunder Spikes Volleyball is a unique 2D Volleyball game produced not only by competent indie game developers, but by passionate fans of the sport. Truly a labor of love, the games animation are all hand-drawn, frame-by-frame, and attention to detail with pixel-perfect realistic controls was a key factor during development. More than 3 years in the making, Thunder Spikes Volleyball allows you to perform every possible volleyball move: spikes, tips, blocks, serves, and spectacular diving saves. To beat your opponent, you must read the defense mid-air, pick your move, and score! The intuitive and polished controls using a single button in addition to the four directional arrows are sufficient to accommodate every action possible, from attack to defense. This design makes the game easy to learn, while leaving room for a wide variety of moves and strategies once you get used to timing and possibilities.

Thunder Spikes Volleyball offers several fun modes of play: In Arcade Mode you can unlock the first 36 national teams from the FIVB World Ranking. In this challenge, you'll need to win a series of consecutive matches, just like in the final stages of a World Championship. Each time you win several matches in a row, new teams become available. In Single Match mode, you can choose the court, team, and various match settings to practice or challenge a friend in local multiplayer, or online via STEAM™ Remote Play Together. And finally, the game includes an extensive Training Mode designed to help you learn and refine the many available moves: different types of serves, spikes, pipe attacks, running saves, and all aspects of defense, from receiving to blocking. A special Career Mode is currently in the works where you start off with a small local team and help it grow and become successful over time. In this mode you can upgrade, buy and sell players, adding a unique management aspect to the game. Career Mode is a feature planned for the official release version.

Thunder Spikes Volleyball is suitable for players of all ages and experience levels and features a built-in Tutorial with videos and interactive sections designed to learn moves and strategies. This is particularly helpful for newcomers and for those aiming to refine their skills.
