Family Friendly Gaming News

Cordova, TN; June 16, in the year of our Lord 2025 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. I am writing this article as we are preparing for the Summer Game Fest. From time to time I reflect on the video game industry and its past. E3 continues to be dead and the Summer Game Fest has taken its place. As far back as 2013 I questioned if we still needed the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) anymore. It seemed that few wanted to change. They must have enjoyed paying all of that money for flights, hotels, and booth space. I went to seven E3's and then got tired of it.

I grew tired of E3 for multiple reasons. First there was the cost. Second there was the posturing of other gaming media outlets. We experienced plenty of hate from the tolerant of diversity crowd in Los Angeles, California. There was the location that sucked and gave us food poisoning more than once. There were the lies from PR and Marketing people at E3. We will send you reviewable copies. We will advertise with Family Friendly Gaming. Our game has this feature. All of those turned out to be lies. They would say whatever to get the coverage and then never keep their word. The image of PR and Marketing is in the sewer thanks to E3 events. I still do not believe these PR and Marketing people when they promise me things.

COVID changed a lot of things, and improved how these companies relay information. The live streaming of events made it so much better. We learned we could wait half an hour and then start our stream. That way we could fast forward through the macabre and morbid content. Plus it meant less time devoted to the live streams.  We could make notes of the different games and go and get the press materials at our leisure. We could do all of this from the comfort of our own homes. Not on the spotty Wi-Fi of a hotel. Or waiting days to get home to do it. I do not miss the travel. I do not miss the location. I do not miss the cost. I am glad E3 is dead, and staying dead.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
