Fornite - Finally Got a Victory Royale

Cordova, TN; November 11, in the year of our Lord 2019 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is imparting an exciting story related to Fortnite. I finally got a Victory Royale. If you saw my Calling an Audible stream on Twitch then you know how close I came. I was number two multiple times in Chapter 1 of Fortnite. I eventually gave up. I started learning how to play Fortnite over Christmas break in the year of our Lord 2018. I played off and on since then. More off than on to be honest. I went entire months without playing Fortnite at all. Then Chapter 2 came and I wanted to try Fortnite again. After streaming Dragon Quest Builders 2 on October 17, 2019 I decided to try one match of Fortnite.

I dropped into an area I was not familiar with. I got a weapon and ran across a bot. I shot the bot in the face, and it ran off. I lost it, and heard other gunfire nearby. I looked out a window to see another player finish off the bot. I lost that other player in the hills and decided to continue looting, and collecting mats. I eventually started moving due to the storm and where I was on the map. I found the corn fields and got some more mats. Someone took some shots at me and I took cover behind a giant tree. I moved the camera around and could not find them. After looking and waiting a bit I realized that I needed to get moving again. So off to the gorge I went. Nice waterfall was my first thought. My second was how am I going to get up there.

There was not enough time thanks to the storm to go around. I build ramps up and eventually got my way to the top. I will admit I wasted too many mats here. I stopped for a few trees to replenish. Then I realized that storm is coming fast and I had some distance to go. I got into the circle and found a house on a small island. More shots were fired at me and took out most of the shield. I ran around the house, found a door and went in. Got a small shield to replenish some of what I had lost. I crouched and trained my gun on the door. Whoever shot at me moved on and went past the island to the town on the other side of this lake. I had built a ramp on one side to block the door I had come in. The circle was moving again and getting much smaller. I had to get moving again. I swam over and looked around for other players at the edge of this town. There were five of us left at the point.

The circle was moving again to almost all water this time. I noticed a small sliver of land. I kept the storm to my back and moved slowly trying to find the other players. I saw one in the water swimming to that small sliver of land in the circle. Another player had built a three story structure. I hopped in the water and swam toward them but circling to the right – which I hoped would be out of their vision. I got to the land as these two were engaged in a gun battle. I lined up the player at the bottom and took some shots with my assault rifle. They had been eliminated. At this point it dawned on me that continuing to shoot would take out the structure and bring that other player crashing down. Hopefully the other player would take some damage. My idea worked and as they landed they seemed a bit stunned. I lined them up again with my gun and took out their shield.

This other player freaked out and ran away from me, and the water. That sent them right into the storm where they would take damage. I had to reload so I moved over by a supply drop to give me some cover. I saw them in the storm and lined them up again. I started shooting and they realized it was my bullets or the storm. The charged me and poof were gone not long after getting out of the storm. For the first time in my life I saw that Victory Royale screen. I celebrated by standing up, and putting both arms out to my side looking like a cross. I let Noah, Peter, and Yolanda know. I took a picture on my phone. I finally got that Victory Royale. I don’t care how many bots there were. I don’t care if match making finally put me up against players of the same skill set for the first time. I just know that monkey is off my back. I just know that by using strategy, cunning, skill, and keeping calm I finally got that win. I used to get all excited when it was me and one other player. I would freak out, and make mistakes. I finally calmed down, and saw it through to the end. I was ready to swap weapons and keep dealing damage right after my win. That is how I know I finally arrived in Fortnite. I know there are plenty of players better than me. I am fine with that. I am just happy that I got a Victory Royale. It feels really sweet. I could not sleep so I could come downstairs and write this article.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
