Major League Baseball 2K12 Now Available

New York, NY – March 6, in the year of our Lord 2012 – 2K Sports today announced that Major League Baseball® 2K12 is now available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Wii™ system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Nintendo DS™ hand-held system and Windows PC .

Major League Baseball 2K12 features a new dynamic ratings system designed to enhance the battle at the plate; revamped throwing system that makes fielding more realistic; new hit distribution system that allows for more varied and realistic hits; and an enhanced My Player mode. Additionally, this year 2K Sports announces the all-new MLB Today Season Mode that lets players complete an entire season at the same pace as their favorite MLB team. Using the powerful MLB Today engine, fans can track and compare their stats and record to their real-life counterparts. Gamers can play through their team’s real schedule, one game a day, and see if they can play their way to a World Series title.

Developed by 2K Sports’ Visual Concepts studio, Major League Baseball 2K12 will once again feature the $1 Million Perfect Game Challenge. This year’s contest, which returns for the third consecutive year and begins on Major League Baseball’s Opening Day, April 4, 2012, elevates the competition by staging a live, eight-person single elimination tournament to determine who walks away with the $1 million grand prize. The finalists will be determined by a dynamic leaderboard ranking the top perfect games thrown. Gamers can repeatedly attempt to improve their position on the leaderboard through April 30, 2012. “I’m not perfect, but I’ve sure come close,” said Detroit Tiger’s ace pitcher and Major League Baseball 2K12 cover athlete Justin Verlander. “I can’t wait to watch this competition unfold and see who will be the newest inductee into the 2K Sports ‘Perfect Club’ - a club I’m determined to get into myself.”

“Winning this competition is life changing,” said Brian Kingrey, winner of last year’s Perfect Game Challenge. “I was a nervous wreck just trying to pitch a perfect game from home, so I can’t even begin to imagine how the final eight competitors are going to feel. I’m excited to see how the contest plays out.’”

Major League Baseball 2K12 is rated E for everyone by the ESRB and is now available.

2K Sports is a division of 2K, a wholly owned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO).
