Solatorobo Red the Hunter for Nintendo DS Now Available
Highly-Anticipated Action RPG from ‘Tail Concerto’ Creator CyberConnect2 Flies onto Retail Shelves with First Run Copies Containing Special Bonus Soundtrack CD
Torrance, Calif., (September 27, in the year of our Lord
2011) – XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher,
has announced today that the highly acclaimed action RPG,
Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, for the Nintendo DS is now available
and the game has begun shipping to retailers across North
America. Developed by famed game studio CyberConnect2,
Solatorobo: Red the Hunter has enjoyed great praise for its
gripping narrative, unique battle system and expansive world,
creating one of the most graphically-impressive games on the
popular Nintendo DS handheld system. The game is the spiritual
successor to the beloved PlayStation RPG title, Tail Concerto.
To help celebrate the game’s release, XSEED Games has
manufactured all first run copies of Solatorobo: Red the Hunter
with a special bonus soundtrack CD.
Literally translated as “Sky and Robot” from Japanese,
Solatorobo: Red the Hunter takes place high in the clouds of the
Shepherd Republic, a sea of floating islands in the sky
inhabited by two races resembling bipedal dogs and cats. In
their everyday lives, these creatures have come to use Robos, or
mounted robot mechs, for all varieties of tasks.
The game follows the story of Red Savarin, a dog-like and
youthful adventurer for hire, who is off on his latest mission
to acquire some sensitive files for a client. Soon after Red
boards the airship holding the files, things take a turn for the
worst, and when Red accidentally touches a mystical medallion he
comes across, a massive monster of incomprehensible size rises
from the sea and bats the airship from the sky. Barely escaping
with an unconscious passenger he comes across while making his
getaway, Red quickly becomes immersed in a plot that reveals him
to be the sole hero who can save the world, discovering his true
potential and inner self in the process.
In addition to its highly-stylized art and bright, unique
visuals, Solatorobo: Red the Hunter features a distinctive world
with plenty of exploration options for players. With 10
different principal cities to explore and a whole host of
characters to meet on the way, Solatorobo provides would-be
explorers plenty of options. In addition to the game’s main
quest, there are numerous side-quests and mini games for players
to enjoy, including the Air Robo GP race series, Robo fishing
and a battle arena where Red can take on tournament fights for
prize money and prestige.
Solatorobo: Red the Hunter is rated E10+ by the ESRB and is
shipping now to participating retailers, exclusively for the
Nintendo DS at an MSRP $34.99.
