Hearts of Iron The Card Game for PC Hits Beta

NEW YORK – June 3, 2011 – Paradox Interactive today announced that Hearts of Iron The Card Game, a free-to-play, browser-based, online Collectible Card Game (CCG) set in World War II, has entered Beta and is seeking players to test the game. Beta players will receive three exclusive cards for their deck that can be used in both the beta and live game after the game officially launches this summer. To sign up for the Beta, please go to: http://beta.hoitcg.com/hoi/index.php

In Hearts of Iron The Card Game, players take on the role of Axis, Allies, or Comintern and choose their strategies as they challenge opponents online in a browser. The game is being developed by Corncrow Games in conjunction with Paradox’s internal development team and is the publisher’s first online CCG.

"It’s fair to say that at Paradox we have a lot of people that are REALLY into World War II and if anyone can build the ultimate World War II CCG, it’s us,” said Tom Söderlund, Project Lead for Paradox Connect. “We invite anyone interested to sign up and participate in the Beta. Those who do will receive something special that will help them in both the Beta phase and the live game later this year.”

Hearts of Iron The Card Game features 140 unique cards with authentic World War II vehicles, strategies and events. A deck editor also allows players to create custom decks according to their play style. Based off the popular historical grand strategy game the Hearts of Iron card game is designed to enable card commanders to strategically build and combine a lethal force to be reckoned with.

Main Features:
• Free-to-Play
• Play as the Axis, Allies, or Comintern
• 140 Unique cards, with authentic World War II art and photography
• Competitive game modes where players can earn booster packs
• Deck editor lets you collect, build and customize decks according to your play style
• Paradox achievements
