I am very thankful Universal sent Family Friendly Gaming a Blu-ray +
DVD + Digital copy of The Grinch. I wondered why Illumination was doing
this movie. The Grinch has already been done. The Grinch by Illumination
is actually better than the original. Not just the animation, voice
acting, and music; also the story line, characters, and overall topics
touched upon.
The first things families need to know about The Grinch is it is funny.
I was rolling in laughter at multiple points in this animated movie.
There are so many funny situations for all kinds of different family
members. The grumpy teenager can relate to The Grinch in the store
shopping. Younger family members can relate to the kids on a mission to
trap Santa Claus. Older family members can relate to the ending of this
movie.
The Grinch references Jesus Christ, and Christmas which is great to see.
This movie does not quote the book verbatim from section to section. All
of the main points and themes are hit though. There are some quotes in
The Grinch. Fred the reindeer is a fantastic addition to The Grinch. He
is funny. The different viewpoints and perspectives are explored
amazingly well in The Grinch.
Some of the lessons in The Grinch are being alone is bad, everyone
should be happy, excess of Christmas is bad, and more. The Grinch shows
that Christmas is not about getting stuff. It is about something bigger
and better. The Grinch also shows that stealing is wrong. Forgiveness
and grace are shown in The Grinch. Those are fantastic things to see
lived out.
There are a lot of bonus features included on the discs of The Grinch.
There are three funny mini movies, making of the mini movies, From Green
to Screen, Who's Who in Who-ville, My Earliest Grinch Memories, Your a
Mean One Mr. Grinch Lyric Video, Songs from his little heart, Grinchy
Gadgets, Any Who Can Draw: The Grinch, Max, Fred, Cindy -Lou's Yule Log,
and more.
I really enjoyed watching The Grinch. We have an Unboxing video if it
here if you are interested. This is a movie the entire family can
enjoy. The rude humor is really light, and things like snowballs being
thrown did not even register with me. I believe families will really
enjoy The Grinch.
