80's Overdrive

I want to extend my thanks to the 80's Overdrive team for providing Family Friendly Gaming a downloadable code for 80's Overdrive on the Nintendo 3DS. This is the exact kind of a video game Family Friendly Gaming has been asking for. 80's Overdrive is a new video game done in the retro style. The retro style found in 80's Overdrive is from Outrun. Do you remember Outrun? I hope you do.

80's Overdrive has amazing music that families can enjoy. I enjoyed listening to it. 80's Overdrive also teaches one really important lesson. Do you want to know what that lesson is? I knew you would. That lesson is do not hit other cars on the road. Can you do that for me? I knew you could. 80's Overdrive is selling for $9.99 as this review is being written. There is no physical copy version available at this time. Lord willing that will change in the future. 80's Overdrive is the kind of an indie video game that needs to be sold at retail.

80's Overdrive has Career Mode, Time Attack, and a Level Editor. The retro graphics in 80's Overdrive look better than I expected them to be. There are all kinds of road splits in 80's Overdrive. The career mode is really fun in 80's Overdrive. We can choose which levels to go and try to beat. Want to know something else really cool about 80's Overdrive? We can upgrade our vehicles. That is something that I really liked. There are also six different cars so you might want to change cars instead of upgrading.

I learned really fast how to play 80's Overdrive. Make slight adjustments in the turns. When I did that I generally avoided violently crashing into other vehicles. I guess the ESRB could not think of any words to describe the violent crashes, or they just neglected their duties completely (yet again). I am impressed by the graphics in 80's Overdrive. I am also impressed by the sensitive controls.

If you purchase digital downloadable video games on the Nintendo 3DS, and you like racing video games then you should take a look at 80's Overdrive. I am very pleased that I was given the opportunity to play and review 80's Overdrive on the Nintendo 3DS. I hope to see more games like 80's Overdrive in the future. I love some of the ideas that were implemented in this title.
