Pet Hospital

You know you are having a good day when you ask for a reviewable copy for one video game and wind up getting four. Pet Hospital on the Nintendo 3DS comes to us from NEOPICA without even asking. NEOPICA could teach some other companies how to do marketing and PR if you catch my drift. I am very thankful we were provided this pet treatment hand held video game.

Players take on the role of a male or female assistant in Pet Hospital. Then we get to learn how to treat the animals in quick little mini games. This is where my biggest problem with Pet Hospital comes up. There is not a lot of time to complete these mini games. The animals are very touchy about where you need to do things to succeed. For instance we listen to a hamsters heart beat under their head.

The timer goes by a bit fast in my opinion. The animals look good, and there is a nice zoom in feature when we are close to them. I would have liked a little realism in the reactions department. I injected all kinds of animals with needles and they did not budge, whimper, or make any sound. I know for a fact that most animals will make a sound, and will cringe after the needle. Let alone having to shoot them up with more than one.

I have played games like Pet Hospital in the past. I like the whole housing the animals in an inpatient kind of way. That was neat. I also enjoyed earning money and purchasing supplies and equipment in Pet Hospital. The conversations are interesting, and very helpful in what to do in Pet Hospital. The first time a mini game is started a tutorial will explain what to do. I wish it came back up if I failed it the first time. It took me multiple tries to figure out the heartbeat one.

I like Pet Hospital on the Nintendo 3DS. This downloadable only hand held video game is selling for $29.99. Which is a bit steep in my opinion. Especially when there are similar games selling physical copies cheaper than Pet Hospital. At the end of the day Pet Hospital is a solid pet treatment video game. If your family enjoys playing the role of a veterinarian then check out Pet Hospital.
