Family Friendly Gaming works with hundreds of companies every single
year. The relationships range from absolutely amazing to stress
creators. Engine Software is on the positive side of scale because they
are such a pleasure to work with. They are making fun, cool, and neat
games that the entire family can enjoy. They provide reviewable copies
before we ask. Proun+ is another game that just adds to their portfolio.
It is obvious to me the creators of these games have great ideas.
I am sure you have looked at the image page for Proun+ on the Nintendo
3DS. You are probably wondering what kind of game is this? Proun+ is a
racing game. We are a ball on a wire/rope/cord. We are in contact with
the wire at all times. We can move around to the top, left, right,
bottom, or anywhere in between while we race to the finish line. My
favorite thing to do in Proun+ is spin around the wire really fast while
moving forward.
Racing in Proun+ should be easy right? The one wrinkle in Proun+ is
objects. Some of them are at two o'clock, others are at eight o'clock,
and some even spin around the wire. Hitting them will slow you down, and
hitting too many will lose you a race. There are also certain races
where you go as long as you can until you bump into an object on the
course.
Graphically Proun+ looks decent. It provides visual clues on where to go
on certain objects. The rotations are smooth and handled properly. The
music is nice to listen to while going through these courses at break
neck speed. By the way there are multiple speed settings in Proun+.
Casual gamers should be able to handle relaxed mode. Speed of Light is
another story - which will interest hardcore gamers.
I really like Proun+ on the Nintendo 3DS. I wish it had multiplayer. I
would love to see a game like this on a home console. I would also like
to see Proun+ released in a physical format. Maybe Engine Software will
come up with a compilation cartridge or something. Proun+ does a great
job of providing for a full spectrum of gaming skillsets. It was a
pleasure for me to play and review Proun+ on the 3DS.
