Tetrobot & Co

Over the last sixteen months I have noticed a variety of robot based puzzle games on Steam. Tetrobot & Co is one of them, and now it has been ported over to the Wii U. Where we can play in the comfort of our own living rooms for $9.99. Tetrobot & Co is a downloadable only video game.

The levels in Tetrobot & Co are longer than I was expecting. There are three pieces to a memory block in each of the levels. They are hidden in ways that can really frustrate. At times I found I have to do tasks in a specific order or I was not able to get one of the pieces of the memory block.

Tetrobot & Co has a really cool feature in the undo button. We can back track to fix a mistake. Which is important in a game like Tetrobot & Co on the Wii U. Which brings me to how this downloadable only home console game controls. We tap on the screen where we want our little robot to go to. He moves there if he can.

Why would the little cute robot not be able to go where you tell him to? Obstacles like laser beams, and walls come to mind. A switch may need to be pressed first. Or maybe we need to get a certain block and throw it to a certain location. Note: blocks keep flying the direction they are thrown unless they hit a wall, or latch onto a similar block. We can also acquire blocks only when we are lined up with them.

Players will find a variety of game play mechanics in this puzzle game. There are pipes that move us to different rooms. There are launchers, objects that take away our blocks, and more in Tetrobot & Co. With each new world there are new game play mechanics.

I like seeing ports like Tetrobot & Co coming to the Wii U. I wish games like Tetrobot & Co were being originally designed and developed on the Wii U. It would be cool to see things video games released on the Wii U being ported to other systems.
