Swords & Soldiers HD

Swords & Soldiers HD is a 2D side scrolling RTS video game on the Wii U. Think of Castlestorm without the castles. Swords & Soldiers HD adds in resource collection in the form of gold. Certain people in your army will go to the gold mines and collect the gold.

The gold in Swords & Soldiers HD is used to purchase upgrades, troops, and towers. There is also magic spells in Swords & Soldiers HD that the player can use to help their troops and decimate the enemy troops. There are three main groups in Swords & Soldiers HD. They are the Viking, Aztecs, and Chinese.

Swords & Soldiers HD contains all kinds of off the cuff humor. Some of it may make little to no sense. Don't worry if you do not always get the quirky humor in this Wii U download only video game. Different characters have different sound effects.

There is plenty of death in Swords & Soldiers HD. Certain troops can raise the dead and have them fight for your side. There is also a puppet master spell that can turn any troop to your side. These require a fair amount of mana, and take time to recharge.

The Chinese use buddah looking status as towers. The Aztecs use statues that may have a religious context. I am not sure one way or the other on the Aztecs. The Vikings call upon thor to send lightning down to attack their enemies. A fair amount of religious content is found within this downloadable only home console video game.

Off screen TV play, and multiplayer are a part of Swords & Soldiers HD. As well as Skirmish mode which can add to the replay value. Swords & Soldiers HD can be fun for a short time. Once you learn how to build your resources, defenses, and send out troops Swords & Soldiers HD can become repetitive. Thankfully there are different levels here and there to keep players honest.
