Atlantic Quest

Match three games are my personal favorite style of video game. Atlantic Quest is in the match three genre. Which means it is under my pink umbrella. Atlantic Quest has an aquatic look and feel to it. In fact many of the objects we match are from under the sea.

Atlantic Quest is a downloadable only video game on the Nintendo 3DS. Apologies to our physical copy only readers, since they will not be able to purchase or play Atlantic Quest on the Nintendo 3DS/Nintendo 2DS. Family Friendly Gaming has written extensively over the years on this issue.

The music in Atlantic Quest is kind and soothing. It helps relax the mind while we are looking for the match three that will open up those background blocks. There are also things like pearls to move towards the bottom of the screen. There is one more little twist to Atlantic Quest.

On the upper screen of Atlantic Quest are fish. They require certain objects to be matched. Once the objects they require are removed, then the fish is freed. You may unlock all the blocks, remove all the pearls, and still need to match some more for the fish on the upper screen.

There are 120 levels in Atlantic Quest. Nine of them are match three in each of the twelve worlds. The final level in each of the worlds is a picture matching mini game. You know the kind. Where the top screen has a picture, and the bottom screen has the pieces all scrambled.

Atlantic Quest is a solid match three title on the Nintendo 3DS with some nice power ups. This hand held video game reminds me of so many different apps I play on my iPhone. It is great to see games like Atlantic Quest being released on the Nintendo 3DS. It shows Nintendo is starting to become more inclusive.
