Tiny Token Empires
SCORE: 78
Tiny Token Empires has made it to the
Playstation 3 from the iPad. Hopefully this puzzle/war/strategy game can
help Sony out of the cellar this console generation. It may have taken
Sony all these years to do something right with the PS3, and we are
already looking at the Playstation 4.
Tiny Token Empires is part war strategy game, and part puzzle game.
Think if you took Risk, fleshed it out, and then battled by playing
match three. Your soldiers have certain tiles they need to power up.
Whatever your fighting has specific tiles they need to match to power up
as well.
We build cities, and raise armies. We send our armies out to capture
additional territories. Eventually we have to battle our enemies with
the puzzle action to win the map. There are a variety of different
conditions we can put on maps in the free play mode. There are also
specific campaigns players can compete in.
Players can choose from a variety of different nations in Tiny Token
Empires. Some examples are the Greeks, Persians, and Romans. Online game
play is provided if you choose to play against others. Tiny Token
Empires can be a game that multiple people locally collaborate on. I
appreciated the advice of others.
Did you know Apple and the ESRB rate games differently? Apple gave Tiny
Token Empires a 9+ rating, and the ESRB gave it a 13+ rating. This is
interesting because I am not sure which one is right. Due to ethnic
attire there is some lack of clothing issues. When you attack a small
blood splatter is shown on the screen.
The tutorial in Tiny Token Empires can be insane. I told the game I
wanted to skip it, but the first campaign made me go through aggravating
lessons on how to play the game. Thing is I already knew how. I got
myself stuck a couple of times going against the guides directions. I
then had to restart because I could not do what he wanted me to do.
The controls in Tiny Token Empires can be confusing at first. But after
a few minutes they start to make sense. The true joy in Tiny Token
Empires is learning the strategy and winning a map. Victory can easily
cascade in Tiny Token Empires. Other time it will take some time and
effort.
