Super Black Bass 3D

There has been a tremendous amount of excitement here at Family Friendly Gaming over the release of Super Black Bass 3D on the Nintendo 3DS. This fishing game is calm and relaxing. At the same time it is intense and heart pounding. This hand held fishing game may take you out of your comfort zone in some areas.

What am I talking about concerning the comfort zone? The way Super Black Bass 3D is controlled is all about moving the machine around. At least in terms of casting, hooking, and reeling. I turned the 3D off while I was learning how to cast. It became pointless to have it on when I was simulating the casting motion with the Nintendo 3DS.

Graphically there are some cool things in Super Black Bass 3D. Characters animate, and walk around. The fish have fantastic animation. The bottom of the waterways are a bit bland, and the animations can seem stiff. The competition does not try animating the human characters so Super Black Bass 3D is going a step beyond in that aspect.

The music is fantastic in Super Black Bass 3D. I enjoy the special effect sounds as well. There is an audio as well as video warning if that fish it about ready to break your line. Better lay off at that point. Super Black Bass 3D will let your line break. Then you will have to equip another one if you have it on hand.

Super Black Bass 3D is a challenging game that simulates fishing. Pay close attention to the instruction in the tutorial - and yes you should choose to play the tutorial. Casual gamers will most likely run into problems playing Super Black Bass 3D. Online leaderboards are present so you can see how well you did compared other gamers.

I find Super Black Bass 3D to be a solid fishing game on the Nintendo 3DS. I wish there had been some choice on the control scheme, the waterway bottoms had been fleshed out more, and there had been a mode for casual (or entry level) gamers. I can see this franchise becoming dominate in future releases with those additions.
