Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed

It is so nice to see Sega beat Nintendo again. What am I talking about? Where has Sega surpassed Nintendo? In kart racers on the hand held. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed edges Mario Kart 7 for best kart racer on the Nintendo 3DS. Sega does so on Nintendo's own machine - which makes it even more impressive.

Sega took their time with Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on the Nintendo 3DS, and I for one am very glad they did. This racing, flying, and boating hand held game is very close to the home console version. But it is a game we can take on the go, and it is in 3D.

I will openly admit I was skeptical of how Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed would turn out on the Nintendo 3DS. I had nothing to be worried about because it looks great. The damage we take is shown in spin outs, or a screen reset. The 3D effects in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed are astounding. I did not know a 3DS game could look that good in terms of depth.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on the 3DS sounds just like the home console version. This had my jaw on the floor. The excitement, anticipation, and atmosphere is captures in this little cartridge masterfully well. Sega has zoomed past their competition, and set a new standard in hand held kart racing.

An entire encyclopedia of content could be written about all the extras and unlockables in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. You will get your moneys worth out of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This is a game that can easily be played for months. Warm up on the easy mode, then work your way into medium, and finally prove yourself on hard.

For those who are curious, Danica Patrick and Wreck-It Ralph are in the 3DS version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. As well as multiple modes, worlds, and race tracks. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has local play for up to eight players, and Internet play for up to eight players. Two is the minimum in each of those modes. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed also contains the Streetpass feature.

The diversity in terms of the racers still astounds me. From the Sonic characters to Super Monkey Ball, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has a racer for nearly everyone. I love earning points for doing things on the tracks. The stickers are one of the parts kids will adhere to.
