Sonic Lost World may be the best 3D Sonic the Hedgehog video game of all time. The story, content, extras, level design and more are absolutely astounding. I feel that Sonic Lost World is a masterpiece. Sega has brought Sonic the Hedgehog back to the top of video game industry.

Sega is making a strong case for game of the year with Sonic Lost World. The storyline feels like an episode of the animated series. The 3D levels are the Mario Galaxy style with a complete Sonic the Hedgehog flavor. The extras and bonus content will keep families playing for months.

There is violent content in Sonic Lost World. As well as some comic mischief. Sonic hits robots with a spin dash attack. Multiple enemies can be targeted at once. Then Sonic will quickly break the robotic shells. This is important because inside the robot shells are cute little woodland critters. We are freeing them from bondage.

The graphics in Sonic Lost World are amazing. Not only the details, but the colors, schemes, creatures and more. They all look wonderful in the 3D environments. Thankfully violence is not the focus of Sonic Lost World. Instead the focus is on exploring the worlds and finding the hidden items.

Players will come to gate levels in Sonic Lost World. A certain number of woodland animals need to be freed for example. This will require replaying certain levels to acquire enough. Unless you take your time and try and collect as much as possible in every level.

The various boss characters can be found in all kinds of different levels. At times they will talk to the player during a level. This level of interaction draws players into this world. It also exhibits the high level of presentation. The music and voice acting continues to be stellar. I am not big on Sonic's rebellious and disrespectful attitude. It is a small part of this game, but still present.

Players can target the bosses for multiple hits in one jump attack. This is one of the new features I absolutely loved. Another cool new feature is a wing that takes the player instantly to the end of the level. This comes up after you die too many times in a level. Kind of like what Nintendo did with their Mario games. Just a faster and better version of it.

Everything about Sonic Lost World shows improvements to the franchise. Sonic Lost World is the game Sonic fans have been wanting since the Dreamcast. It is my personal new favorite Sonic the Hedgehog video game. Wii U owners are in for a real treat this Christmas thanks to Sonic Lost World.
