Rolling Hero
SCORE: 88
Rolling Hero starts out like so many other
apps on the iOS platform. Your girlfriend has been kidnapped and you
have to rescue her. Okay so maybe this concept has been used a lot in
the video game industry as a whole. In the case of Rolling Hero we are a
round ball.
The main game play mechanic is what makes Rolling Hero so interesting.
We tap on the right to rotate the screen that direction. Can you guess
what happens when we tap to the left side of the screen? Yup, the screen
rotates to the left. Our rotund character rolls whichever direction
gravity allows him.
If you are really good in Rolling Hero you can save your character from
flying off the edge of the little world. How? By rotating the screen
fast enough to reverse gravity. Then he will come flying back. I could
not always make this work myself. But when I did it was really cool.
I enjoyed the music and special effect sounds. Rolling Hero is an app,
but it has some very high quality. We collect flowers in Rolling Hero,
but do not need them to unlock additional worlds. Completing all the
levels in a world unlock the next one. All of the levels in Rolling Hero
can be unlocked with an in-app purchase.
I can pass along one important lesson I learned while playing Rolling
Hero. Momentum is very important. At times I would over compensate and
it cost me. Patiently awaiting the effects of the angle of the level,
and the speed of the hero rolling are very important. Sometimes it takes
the right touch.
