It has been some time since any interesting brain games have marched their way into the Family Friendly Gaming Nation. Let alone anything on the Playstation 3. I am intrigued by Psych Yourself. I wondered if this home console game would tell families what their psychological profile was.

Psych Yourself provides families with the ability to test their Perception, Creativity, and Emotional IQ. How good are you at reading people's face in terms of their emotions? What about their body language? There are even short little videos in Psych Yourself to gauge your ability to read subtle facial emotions.

Psych Yourself only lets you test yourself once per day. You can go into the different exercises and practice them. No matter how many times I try certain Creativity activities, I still can not figure out which of those pictures loosely connects to the others. Psych Yourself will tell you how many right you got, but not which one.

One of the neatest things in Psych Yourself is the description given at the end of the testing. It will tell you about yourself. I found some of this to be accurate, and other parts to be way off base. I noticed that parts of one area could contradict parts of another area. Which is odd.

Psych Yourself is an interesting downloadable game on the PS3. I can see where it could be fleshed out in sequels to give family members more reasons to come back and play it every single day. It is fun to go through the tests and see where this home console game ranks you.

I had fun playing Psych Yourself, and everyone at Family Friendly Gaming was eager to see what the game said about them. Most came back with the same impression as me, some things are right on target, and others not so much so. Social Functions in Psych Yourself allow you to see what your PSN friends think of you. That is if you want to know.
