Pressure
SCORE: 77
Pressure on the Personal Computer (PC)
starts with a really cool intro movie. You and your robotic dog are out
to take a dip in the water near your house. Unfortunately it has been
vacuumed all up by the bad guy who is selling tickets to his new spa.
Guess where he got the water from?
I will admit Pressure has a little entitlement mentality to it. Also
some of the "you didn't build that," concept. But most gamers will not
focus on that. Instead they will be racing through the levels to get
from the beginning to the end. Be fast, and avoid all those obstacles.
The biggest obstacle I found in Pressure were the other vehicles. Who
were shooting at me. Why are they shooting at me? I am taking a nice
leisurely drive down the dried up water bed. I am going to that spa. Not
a very good sales strategy - kill off all your customers.
Pressure allows gamers to play with an Xbox 360 controller - at least
that is how it looked to me, mouse, and/or keyboard. I tried to plug in
a Xbox 360 controller, but it just turned on the Xbox 360. Firing with
the mouse and moving with the keyboard was the most comfortably
configuration I found. Not as good as the precision of a controller
though.
We blow up other vehicles along the way. It gets really hectic near the
end of a level too. It took me multiple tries just to beat the first
level of Pressure. So expect a major challenge. You can play major
portions of this PC game in a non-violent fashion. Pressure is much more
difficult that way.
Pressure provides a console feel on the PC platform which is really
neat. Pressure feels like an Xbox 360 game in many regards to me at
least.
