Monsters University

Monsters University

I was not sold on the idea of Monsters University. In fact I thought going back in time before Monsters Inc did not make much sense. Especially when the audience knows they will become employees of Monsters Inc. Guess what? I was wrong. Monsters University is an amazing movie.

We get to learn and know the characters on a much deeper level. We understand friendships and rivalries much better thanks to Monsters University. Along the way families will experience numerous laughs. Monsters University is hilarious on so many different fronts.

Ultimately Monsters University is about Mike Wazowski. Billy Crystal plays this role masterfully well. He just rolls on throughout the movie. The never say die, and never give up attitude is commendable. In fact Monsters University reminds me of Rudy in that regard.

Monsters University also reminds me of Revenge of the Nerds. It has a band of losers who unite and become a team. They are mocked, and expected to take last place. Instead they fight, scratch and claw their way to victory. There are some surprise twists that I will not spoil.

Family Friendly Gaming was provided the Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy of Monsters University. This allows for viewing of Monsters University in multiple ways, and places. There are a ton of extras in this package. Things like The Blue Umbrella, Deleted Scenes, Audio Commentary, Campus Life, Welcome to MU, Art Galley, and many more.

Monsters University is a clean movie that is safe for families. There is some mild moments of peril, and a few scary seconds. Please note I said seconds, because that is how long they last. I see Monsters University becoming a favorite among families - especially ones that enjoy Monsters Inc.
