Family Kart 3D
I know we
are not supposed to have favorites, but I am human. I really enjoy and
appreciate the games from Arc System Works. Their Family games have been
a personal favorite for some time now. We are Family Friendly Gaming so
it makes sense.
Any time there is any kart racing game released, it will be compared to Mario Kart. There is no getting around that. Family Kart 3D is a fun kart racing game that families can enjoy for a very low price on the Nintendo 3DS. The low price makes up for their only being twelve race tracks.
The eight racers, and eight karts in Family Kart 3D are adequate for a downloadable hand held game. The race tracks are fun. Family Kart 3D starts easy and progressively gets more difficult. It is thankfully a little on the casual side in terms of overall difficulty. At least until you reach the toughest races.
My one problem with Family Kart 3D is my right hand started hurting after extended game play. I think this has to do with keeping the 'A' button down for gas, and hitting the 'R' button for the power sliding. I wound up rotating my wrist, and clinching and unclinching my hand to alleviate the discomfort.
The power sliding is very handy and useful in Family Kart 3D. The more it is done, the more a gauge builds up. This gauge goes up to three levels. The player can use it (once it fills the first level) for a short speed boost. There are also items on the track that provide a variety of weapons/items.
The 3D visuals in Family Kart 3D are astounding. I love to hear the different special effect sounds and music in this Nintendo 3DS game as well. Family Kart 3D places just behind Mario Kart for the title. It is a fantastic kart racing game with hours of replay thanks to the three main modes (Grand Prix, Free Play, and Time Mode).
