Bubble and Squeak

Bubble and Squeak on the iOS platform is a
clone of the Bust a Move franchise. Just so no one is confused we are
talking about the video game franchise, not the Young MC song. There are
bubbles at the top of the screen and we have a launcher to send more
bubbles up there. The goal is to match the colors and have all the
bubbles gone from the screen.
Bubble and Squeak comes in two modes. There is the Puzzle mode where
players will have to clear the screen of certain bubbles put in a
certain formation. The other mode in Bubble and Squeak is Survival.
Bubbles keep marching down towards the player, so you gotta be fast to
keep going. The longer you stay alive the better.
Bubble and Squeak has a small line guide from the launcher that vanishes
into thin air pretty quickly. This is not helpful when we have to bank
things off the walls. Bubble and Squeak does not let players throw
things up on the ceiling either. It will bounce off and fall to the
bottom.
I need to point out that not being able to stick things to the ceiling
is a two edged sword. If you have the wrong colors it is great to
quickly dispose of them. If you are trying to connect two of the same
color not that far apart on the ceiling then it is not so great. I had
to adjust strategies I normally used for this kind of a game with Bubble
and Squeak.
Bubble and Squeak has a fun atmosphere with some neat little monkeys.
The menu screens in Bubble and Squeak are almost alive. They move around
and gyrate as the player makes their selection. This actually made me
feel nauseous. I stayed off the menu screens as much as possible.
Make sure you have a newer device to use with Bubble and Squeak. My old
iPod Touch will not play Bubble and Squeak. It just crashes. This
problem was not in the newer devices.
