Xia Xia

GameMill Entertainment is making quite the name for themselves in the realm of kids games. Xia Xia is an amazing game that has taken Family Friendly Gaming by storm. This lovable little Nintendo DS game impresses everyone here. There are twenty-five levels in five worlds, four cool playable crabs, sixty missions, and sixty friends.

The art style of Xia Xia is adorable. I noticed some neat special effects in terms of the graphics rolling as I went higher or lower in levels. Xia Xia is non-violent. We are going around these mazes to find our friends. These mazes are 2D side scrolling levels. We can hit boxes to break them apart. They usually contain a collectible item we are looking for.

The music in Xia Xia is stunningly good. I absolutely love how Xia Xia sounds. The special effect sounds are great as well. The music and sounds brought a smile to my face. The good news is I am not the only one. Kids love Xia Xia. They can easily pick up this hand held game and enjoy it. They really get into the music as well.

Kids games are normally over in a flash. Xia Xia is one of the longest kids games I have ever played. Which is one of the reasons Xia Xia is so impressive. GameMill Entertainment went to a lot of effort in the creation of Xia Xia. The levels in Xia Xia are huge. Children pick a buddy to find - there are usually four in a level. Once a buddy is found they are brought back to the level select screen. Levels are replayed to explore further and find additional friends.

The controls are very simple. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is the buttons are in odd places. Meaning I am used to the jump button being somewhere else. I was able to adapt quickly. This comment did come up more than once though. The exploration theme of Xia Xia really is a fun way to play a video game. Plus Xia Xia is safe for all ages of the family.

The warm water, and the soft sands of Xia Xia are very inviting. There are all kinds of different games, and they illicit all kinds of different reactions. To me Xia Xia is a smile. It teaches us that video games can be fun, and safe at the same time. There is a real innocence and joy to Xia Xia. This Nintendo DS game earns our rarely given seal of approval.
