Wreck-it Ralph
SCORE: 83
Disney Mobile has made a big splash in the
iPhone/iPod Touch market thanks to Where's My Water?. So when they
contact me about a new game, I pay close attention. They recently
captivated us with the concept for Wreck-it Ralph. Yes this game is
based on the movie. In a very intelligent way.
Wreck-it Ralph contains three games based off of content in the movie.
They are Fix-it Felix Jr., Hero’s Duty, and Sweet Climber. There is also
a fourth game coming soon. If Disney Mobile treats Wreck-it Ralph like
Where's My Water? then there could be multiple games added after that. I
believe it has to do with how well the app sells.
I really enjoy two of the games in Wreck-it Ralph. Hero's Duty is not my
thing, and what helps this app earn its 9+ rating. In Hero's Duty we
have a soldier who shoots everything that comes their way. Sweet Climber
is a jumping game where we bounce from branch to branch climbing as high
as we can.
The true gem in Wreck-it Ralph is Fix-it Felix Jr. This feels just like
an arcade game from the 80s. It looks like one from that era with one
exception. What is that exception? Wreck-it Ralph looks better than the
8-bit games from that era. Wreck-it Ralph has a polished look to it.
I was able to control two of the three games with no issues. Again
Hero's Duty came out with the short end of the stick. I had problems
with the controls for some reason. Yet I was able to easily control the
other two. I like how there are three different old school arcade games
in Wreck-it Ralph. Fix-it Felix Jr. is the best of the three in my
humble opinion.
